Whatever place you travel to is almost sure to have some sort of an art gallery of a museum, but then again their quality is not granted. Sometimes those small anonymous galleries can bring you the same amount of joy as these well-known ones. However, if you want to see important art pieces from important people you have to go to one of the top galleries on Earth to admire their beauty. The V&A

Located in London, the V&A or the Victoria and Albert Museum is the largest one in the world when it comes to applied and decorative arts. There, you can explore more than 2.27 million objects, sculptures, painting, etc. It was founded back in 1852 and it got its name after the Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. You can see many different things there spanning over 3000 years in age, and one of them is the Jewellery gallery that represents the sapphire and diamond coronet of Queen Victoria.

The Tate Modern

If you want more modern art, The Tate Modern located on the south side of Thames in London might be for you. It is Britain’s national gallery which holds the national collection of art from Britain’s period of the 1900s to now. There are collections of international modern and contemporary art-making this gallery and museum one of the largest ones for contemporary and modern art in the whole world. Visiting the gallery is free of charge, so it’s affordable for everybody.

The Uffizi Gallery

This gallery can be found in Florence, Italy and it’s the place where you can see the finest collection of Renaissance paintings in the world. Other than Renaissance art, you can find medieval, baroque, Mannerist heydays, and other styles there. This place is the home of Botticelli’s famous pieces known as “The Birth of Venus” and “Primavera”. In summer, there’s usually a long line of people that wait patiently to see these artworks in real life, but the wait is very much worth it.

Picasso Museum

This museum and a gallery are located in Barcelona, Spain and it holds 4251 works done by the 20th-century artist Pablo Picasso. The museum opened in 1963 and has the collection of the artworks permanently. It is the first museum dedicated to his work, and what’s even more interesting is that it was created during the artist’s lifetime.

The Acropolis Museum

Located in Athens, Greece, this archeological museum with its first-floor gallery has findings from the slopes of Acropolis. You can see the archaeological excavations through the transparent glass. Sanctuaries of the Athenians from each historical period are visible nearby. One of the main attractions there is the frieze of the Parthenon.

If you have a wish to go to St. Petersburg in Russia, visiting State Hermitage has to be on your to-do list. There, you can see more than three million artifacts from the Stone Age to the last century. The focal point of the museum is the Western European art which can be explored in 120 rooms and four buildings.  Names like Rembrandt, Picasso, da Vinci, van Gogh, Goya and many others can be encountered there.
